NC State will travel to Blacksburg, Virginia this weekend for a show down with the Hokies of Virginia Tech. The meet is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. in the War Memorial Pool on campus. The Pack men are off to a strong start at 5-0, while the women are hanging tough at 5-2.
The Wolfpack men have made their mark on the conference with two wins over Maryland and Duke. Swimmers Rob Yeager and Jack Deal have led the team, and are near the top of the ACC with fast times. Yeager has consistently had great swims in the 200 IM and holds the conference's second fastest time. Deal also ranks among the conference elite and posted his fastest time of the season in the 500 free just last week in a meet with JMU and UNCW.
The women are beginning to heat up and show improvement week to week. Catherine Parks continues to shave seconds off of her 200 free time and has been pursued closely by Laura Cutler. The two both hold a place in the conference's top 10 times. Priscilla Humberstone has made improvements in the 200 breast and also appears among the conference's elite.
