RALEIGH, N.C. - With Thanksgiving looming in less than a week, NC State fans will have an opportunity to get in the Wolfpack holiday spirit this weekend with football, and men's and women's basketball action slated for home dates. And if you can't make it to every game, set the VCR, because almost all the action will be on television.
Both the men's and women's basketball teams will kick off their regular seasons with home games on Friday night. The men will play host to Mount St. Mary's at the RBC Center starting at 7:30. The Fox Sports Network will carry the game live, and it will be aired on radio on the Wolfpack Capitol Sports Network.
Kay Yow's Wolfpack Women begin their season at Reynolds Coliseum with a 7 o'clock matchup against UC Santa Barbara. That game can be heard live on 88.1, WKNC-FM.
At 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, the Wolfpack football team will play host to Florida State in a game that will with many bowl implications on the line. Carter-Finley Stadium should be packed to the rafters and rocking and rolling for the meeting with the Seminoles, and ABC-TV will carry all the action, as will the Wolfpack Capitol Sports Network on radio.
The big weekend will wrap up on Sunday with the Women's Jimmy V Classic at the RBC Center. The Wolfpack Women will take on perennial power Connecticut at 4:30 p.m. That game will be broadcast live on ESPN, and on radio on both WKNC and WRBC, 850 the Buzz.
Following the big weekend, Wolfpack fans can spend the following week giving thanks for a bowl invitation and the promising start to the hoops season for both the men's and women's teams.
