Raleigh, N.C. - Senior goalkeeper Mitchell Watson was named to the 2002 ACC All-Tournament team the ACC announced Sunday afternoon from SAS Soccer Stadium in Cary, N.C.
Watson has been a staple in goal for NC State, starting all four seasons. Watson has 70 starts under his belt (missing only three starts with injury), and has played 6,436 career minutes. This season, Watson became NC State's all-time career leader in saves. His four-year total stands at 443, breaking the mark set by Kris Peat (416 saves from 1984-87). Watson's last three season saves totals each rank in the top-10 in school history, and his total of 138 this season ranks him second all-time.
