Wolfpack Women 13th Going Into Final Round Of Play

Chapel Hill, N.C. - NC State knocked 11 strokes off of its first round score and moved into 13th place with a score of 613 after the second round of play at the Franklin Street Trust/ Tar Heel Invitational on Saturday. Erica Wein and Sarah Bonner shot low rounds for the Wolfpack on the day and finished the round with a two-over par score of 74.

Wein, who also shot two-over on Friday, leads the Wolfpack with a two-day score of 148 and is in a tie for 17th going into the third round. Bonner had an uncharacteristic performance in the first round, but is back on pace after the second round with a score of 155.

Briana Vega also improved on her performance from Friday to finish the day at three-over and carries a score of 154 into the final round.

Courtney Pomeranz shot her second consecutive round of 78, while Colby Cobb finished the round with 80 strokes. Individual participant Leslie Stubblefield withdrew from competition and did not play in the second round.

Sunday's third round will conclude play in the Franklin Street Trust. Play will begin at 9:00 a.m. with a shotgun start. Wolfpack golfers will begin the final round on the 16th, 17th and 18th holes.
