Raleigh, N.C.-It's been said that winning cures all ills. It also helps in the area of TV ratings. The coach Chuck Amato TV Show, which airs on a network of stations across the state of North Carolina every weekend, has consistently been the No. 1 program in its time slot in the Raleigh-Durham market.
Raleigh station WRAL-TV 5 carries the Amato Show every Sunday morning at 11:30 a.m. On Sunday, October 27, the show won its time slot by a relatively overwhelming margin with a 3 household rating and an 8 share (the percentage of the viewing audience). The next closest show during the same time period was "American Athlete," which had a 2.1 rating with a 6 share on WTVD.
Perhaps even more impressively, the Amato Show's ratings were better than the combined audience numbers produced by similar shows at rival schools North Carolina and Duke, which air at 12:00 and 12:30, respectively on WTVD. When added together, the shares recorded by the shows at UNC (4 share) and Duke (3 share) last Sunday still fall one point shy (8-to-7) of the NC State football show.
The Chuck Amato Show, hosted each week by Don Shea, features comments from the coach, weekly highlights and regular features on Wolfpack players.
