RALEIGH, N.C. - Fans planning to attend NC State's Red-White basketball game at the RBC Center and the football game against Georgia Tech at Carter-Finley Stadium on Saturday afternoon should anticipate heavy congestion and muddy conditions in the parking lots adjacent to the arena and football stadium.
Fans should be aware of the following traffic timeline for Saturday's doubleheader:
* Traffic Gate E at Edwards Mill Road will open at 7 a.m. for those with valid football parking passes. All other parking gates will open at 11:30 a.m. to accommodate those with football parking passes to enter and park for the Red-White game.
* Fans who plan on attending the Red-White game or the Georgia Tech football game but do not have a parking permit can park at the North Carolina State Fairgrounds.
Once fans enter the stadium and arena grounds, they should be prepared to deal with very muddy conditions in the unpaved parking areas. Near-record-setting rainfall amounts in October have made the dirt parking lots at Carter-Finley Stadium a muddy mess. Fans parking in some of the lower-lying dirt parking areas can expect mud to be ankle-deep or worse. Again, fans should be prepared for messy conditions.
