Evtimov Named ACC Rookie of the Week

It appears that NC State has cornered the market on ACC Rookie of the Week Honors. On Monday, Jan. 21, Ilian Evtimov became the third different Wolfpack freshman to be named Rookie of the Week. Center Josh Powell was cited for the honor on November 26th and December 10th, while Julius Hodge was recognized on January 7th.

Evtimov, a 6-7, 226-pound forward from Winston-Salem, N.C. earned the first two starts of his career and helped the Pack to conference victories over Clemson (80-79) and Georgia Tech (84-71). For the week, he averaged 10.0 points, 3.0 assists and 1.0 blocks. He shot 6-of-12 (50 percent) from the floor, including 5-of-9 (55.5 percent) from beyond the arc.
