White And Borum Defy The Odds

When they entered training camp with their respective NFL teams, Clayton White and Jarvis Borum were the ultimate long-shots. As undrafted free agents, the two former Wolfpack stars were given little or no chance to make it to opening day.
But sometimes, good things do happen to good people.
White, a three-year starter at linebacker for the Pack, made the opening day roster when the New York Giants cut their roster down to the 53-player minimum over the weekend. Borum, a massive offensive tackle, received the same good news from the Arizona Cardinals.
Borum's chances for playing time appear to be good given the fact that he is Arizona's only backup tackle at this time. The Cardinals showed a lot of faith in the Columbia, S.C. native by cutting another tackle, Michael Cook. The Cards placed another tackle, former Carolina Panther Norberto Davidds-Garrido, on injured reserve.
White and the Giants will open their season on the road at Denver on Monday, September 10. Borum will have to wait an extra week before starting his professional career because Arizona gets a bye in week one. The Cardinals will kick things off at Washington on September 16.
