The NC State Dance Team began only seven years ago as a member of the Club Sports Department, and has quickly become one of the most respected collegiate dance teams in the nation.
It has steadily grown each year, currently having 27 members on the squad. The team practices approximately 12 hours per week, time which has recently paid huge dividends.
Coming off a very successful year in which they are currently ranked 2nd in the nation, the team recently returned from camp where they qualified for the 2002 NDA (National Dance Alliance) Nationals, won 1st place team dance, as well as the most spirited dance team.
As a non-profit organization, the Dance Team has become a permanent fixture at many Wolfpack sporting events. They participate in a wide variety of campus events including spirit rallies, football and men's and women's basketball games, as well as gymnastics and wrestling meets. Much of their time is also spent volunteering as special guest performers for pageants, local festivals and charity events.
The NC State Dance Team's unique mix of pom, funk and jazz dance styles has enabled them to add a new and exciting dimension to Wolfpack athletic events.
