Men's Soccer Falls to Northeastern

Raleigh, N.C. - The NC State men's soccer team fell to Northeastern 2-0 Saturday afternoon at Method Road. The contest was NC State's season opener, and part of the Adidas Wolfpack Invitational hosted by the Pack this weekend.
Northeastern's Anders Hoyen capitalized on a Wolfpack defensive error at the 6:30 mark, to net the Huskies' first goal of the game. Trond Olsen added an insurance goal in the 63rd minute, after bouncing in a rebound off of a corner kick.
The Pack held the edge in shots, 10-8, but Northeastern's Allen Lewis recorded the shutout with four saves on the day.
In today's other contest, Duke used goals from Demetrio Sanchez, Jordan Cila, and Noah Lewkowitz to defeat Massachusetts 3-0.
The Pack will be back in action tomorrow, wrapping up the adidas Wolfpack Invite, taking on UMass at 1:00 p.m. Duke-Northeastern will following at 3:30 p.m.
