Raleigh, NC - NC State women's tennis coach Kay Louthian has announced that she will resign her position to pursue other career opportunities. Louthian has spent three seasons with the Wolfpack program.
"I've enjoyed my time at NC State, but have decided that I want to do other things at this time," said Louthian. "I have great confidence that the women's tennis program is heading in the right direction. [Director of Athletics] Lee Fowler is planning to enhance the tennis facilities and continue to make NC State a great place to play tennis. I will greatly miss my players and wish them all success."
Louthian, a standout player at the collegiate and professional levels, compiled a 23-41 record with the Wolfpack.
Eric Hayes, the coach of the Wolfpack men's tennis team, will serve as interim coach as the athletics department conducts a nationwide search for Louthian's replacement. Interested candidates may contact Assistant Athletics Director Shannon Yates at (919) 515-2101.
