Well the rain struck again today. Instead of going outside, the team worked out in the green room at Weisiger-Brown. The rain wasn't really the problem, but the lightning strikes that accompanied the rain were. The team would much rather go outside - inside usually means mat drills or at least the bad memories of mat drills!
We had our first press conference today at Tony's Bourbon Street Oyster Bar in Cary. Gino Russo and Karen Ratliffe took great care of us and about 40 media folks. The food was fabulous - prime rib, mahi mahi or chicken oscar. But... the chocolate volcanos had to be the best. Philip Rivers, Levar Fisher and Terrence Holt were the players in attendance and they made sure they didn't leave until they had finished the chocolate!
Those three guys are really great with the media. It is amazing how poised young man Rivers is in front of the cameras and microphones.
I know August is about to run out, but since I've missed a couple of days, I'll keep doing this until at least the opener next week. I think I'll keep on writing throughout the year as well - telling you what's going on with our other teams as well. I really appreciate all of the nice e-mails and comments I've gotten from people.
And by the way, don't forget to "Ride with Wolfpack Pride." Next Wednesday and Thursday, fly your Wolfpack flags in your cars. We want to paint the triangle (and wherever you might live) red before the season starts.
