WICE-FM Joins Wolfpack Radio Network

The Wolfpack Radio Network would like to welcome WICE-FM, Cool Oldies 98.3 on board for the upcoming season. The 25,000-watt station, licensed to Oxford, N.C., is slated to hit the airwaves from its new tower on September 1.
According to owner Tom Joyner, the station will cover a broad area stretching from just north of Raleigh to southern-central Virginia.
"Our signal will encompass Wake Forest and Butner to the south, South Hill, Va. to the North, Warrenton to the east and through Roxboro to the west," Joyner said.
WICE plans carry a full schedule of games for both football and men's basketball. A total of 37 radio stations across the state will air Wolfpack broadcasts this season.
Gary Hahn (play-by-play), Johnny Evans (color) and Tony Haynes (sidelines) will kick off the 2001 broadcast schedule when NC State opens its football season against Indiana on Thursday night, September 6. Expanded pre-game coverage for the 7:30 p.m. contest begins at 6:45.
