Let it be known that NC State is the official home for block parties. When it comes to blocking field goals, extra points and punts, the Wolfpack has been as good as any team in college football over the last two years.
Did you know that NC State set a school record with four blocked field goals, while also blocking three punts last fall? And the year before, the Wolfpack established a new school mark for blocked punts with six.
The leader of `the block brigade' is safety Terrence Holt, who blocked two punts as a rookie (both in the win at Texas), and blocked three field goals last season, including the potential game-tying kick at Indiana.
Senior cornerback Brian Williams has a blocked punt in each of the last two seasons. Williams' rejection of a Minnesota punt early in the third quarter was a major turning point in the Pack's comeback win over the Gophers in last December's MicronPC.com Bowl.
