For the first time in the history of NC State football, the Wolfpack has sold all of its season tickets before the season opener. With over 31,500 season tickets sold, NC State has increased its sales by 6,000 from last year and 10,000 from three years ago.
"This is a great tribute to Coach Amato and his staff and players, but it is an even greater tribute to our loyal Wolfpack fans and alumni," said Director of Athletics Lee Fowler. "To sell out season tickets for basketball last year and then to turn around and do it for the first time in football this year shows the remarkable pride that our fans have in our program."
"I would also like to thank all of the people at NC State whose hard work has helped us reach this level," Fowler continued. "Our ticket office, marketing office and the Wolfpack Club have worked tirelessly to make this happen and I appreciate their efforts more than they know."
"This shows the committment and love that so many people have for NC State," said Amato. "I appreciate every one of them and want them to know that our team is looking forward to seeing the fans on September 6 just as much as the fans are looking forward to seeing our team.
There will no single-game tickets available for the season and a waiting list is already being established for the 2002 season. To get on that list, fans can call 1-800-310-PACK or (919) 515-2106.
Season ticket renewals for the upcoming men's and women's basketball seasons will be mailed next week. The priority deadline to return orders is September 15. Last season, the Wolfpack sold over 15,000 season tickets for men's basketball, selling all available season tickets.
