Wolfpack guard Trey Guidry has announced that he plans to leave NC State following the conclusion of the spring semester. The Baton Rouge, La., native appeared in 24 games for the Wolfpack last season.
"Trey is a terrific young man and we certainly intend to keep in touch and follow his career," said head coach Herb Sendek. "We accept his decision and wish him well. At the same time, we are continuing to prepare for next season with exciting anticipation and focused determination."
"This past year at NC State has been a good experience and I have formed wonderful relationships with Coach Sendek and his staff," said Guidry. "But at this time, I think that it's in my best interest to seek other opportunities."
Averaging 9.6 minutes of playing time last season, Guidry averaged 3.1 points per game. Overall, he appeared in 24 games and made six starts. In his best outing of the year, Guidry knocked down five-of-six three-point shots in a 15 point outburst at Wake Forest on January 31.
