Wolfpack Concludes Spring Drills

RALEIGH, NC -- Austin Herbert booted three field goals, and Philip Rivers and Olin Hannum each tossed touchdown passes as the NC State football team wrapped up spring drills with the Annual Red-White Game on Saturday afternoon at Carter-Finley Stadium.
The team went through a two and a half hour situational scrimmage with the first and second-team offense going against the first and second-team defense.
Herbert kicked field goals of 46 yards, 36 yards and 32 yards. He also just missed a 53-yarder that sailed wide right. Adam Kiker also added a 36-yard field goal.
The quarterback tandem of Rivers and Hannum also enjoyed solid afternoons. Rivers completed 23-of-29 passes for 185 yards and a touchdown, while Hannum was 18-of-23 for 167 yards and a score. Rivers tossed a 22-yard scoring strike to Bryan Peterson and Hannum hit Chris McKinney with an 18-yard touchdown pass.
McKinney led the way for the Wolfpack with 10 catches for 124 yards and a score. Willie Wright caught five passes for 33 yards, while Ray Robinson also grabbed five passes for 33 yards out of the backfield.
Carlos Doggett was the game's leading rusher, gaining 66 yards on 12 carries. He scored the game's only rushing touchdown when he scampered 40 yards for a touchdown.
Defensively, Brian Jamison recorded eight tackles from his middle linebacker position, while Dantonio Burnette added seven stops. Darius Bryant led the Wolfpack with three tackles for loss.
