NC State Cheerleaders Earn National Title

NC State's cheerleading squad won the National Cheerleaders Association Division I-A national championship at the NCA Collegiate Nationals held Friday at Daytona Beach, Fla. The Wolfpack beat out 10-time national champion Louisville for the title. The Cardinals placed second in the competition held at the Oceanfront Band Shell.
NC State was also crowned Grand Champion after defeating the champions from each of the other NCA divisions. This marks the third national title for the Wolfpack, but its first in the NCA competition, and its first under coaches Lisa and Wes James.
NC State's dance squad also had a successful competition, finishing as national runner-up in the National Dance Association Division I-A competition. Brigham Young successfully defended its national championship.
Both competitions will be televised on April 28 at 3 p.m. by CBS.
