Wolfpack 11th After First Day at Lady Seahawk Invitational

WALLACE, N.C. - NC State's women's golf team tallied a 36-hole total of 649 in the first day of competition in the UNCW Lady Seahawk Invitational to stand in 11th place in the 19-team tournament. The Wolfpack shot a 332 in the morning round in blustery conditions before improving to 317 in the afternoon round.
Freshman Malin Claesson led NC State with a two-round total of 158 to stand in a tie for 16th place. She was followed by fellow rookie Rebecca Randolph who carded a 160 (T-28th).
Charleston Southern sits atop the leaderboard after firing a 615 to hold a commanding 12-shot lead over tournament host UNC Wilmington. Kari Hilton of Charleston Southern leads the individual race with a 36-hole total of 145 (+1).
The final 18-hole round will begin Tuesday morning at River Landing Country Club. The par-72 tract is located in Wallace, N.C.
