Holloway Takes 10th At NCAA Championships

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Braden Holloway, a senior from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, finished 10th in the 100 backstroke Friday evening at the NCAA Swimming/Diving Championships in College Station, Texas on the campus of Texas A&M University. Holloway swam a preliminary time of 48.00 in the event, followed by a 48.11 mark in the consolation finals. He came into the meet with the 20th fastest time (48.18) in the nation. Holloway was also qualified to swim the 100 breaststroke at the meet, but declined to focus on the backstroke.
Holloway, an All-American, finishes his career at NC State, with three individual school records (100 backstroke, 200 backstroke and 200 Individual Medley). He was also a member of the school record-setting 200 and 400 medley relay squads while at NC State.
Competition in the meet continues Saturday.
