Miller Not Ready To Return

The waiting game will continue for Archie Miller. NC State's junior point guard, who was forced to the sidelines with a stress fracture in his left leg in early January, won't be available for this week's conference games against Virginia (Wednesday) and Duke (Sunday).
"He has not returned to practice yet," Wolfpack head coach Herb Sendek said during this week's ACC Teleconference. "It will probably be another week or so before we re-evaluate it. At that time, we'll take inventory and evaluate it. In our best hopes, we were anticipating that he might return to the Virginia game, but as it turns out he's not ready to go."
Prior to being diagnosed with the stress fracture, Miller was leading the entire nation in three-point shooting at 62 percent. In his last start at Virginia on January 6, Miller scored 15 points and dished out three assists in 35 minutes of playing time. He hasn't played or practiced since logging just five minutes in NC State's six-point loss to Duke on January 10.
"In large part, it's just a function of how he feels," Sendek said. "We know he has a stress fracture and obviously, he feels better with each week that goes by. Right now, there's still some soreness just running on the treadmill. He's just not ready to return yet."
The status of senior center Ron Kelley, who didn't play in Saturday's game against Syracuse, remains uncertain.
"Ron is somebody who I evaluate day-by-day," Sendek said. "He did practice on Monday. Going into the Syracuse game, he didn't practice at all."
Since coming back from athroscopic knee surgery in mid-December, Kelley has averaged only eight minutes of playing time per game.
