Waco, Texas--Wolfpack senior linebacker Levar Fisher was named to the American Football Coaches' All-America Team Wednesday afternoon.
Fisher, a Beaufort, N.C. native, tallied 144 tackles this season and will finish his career as the school's all-time leading tackler with 492 career stops. He also earned first-team All-ACC honors for the second consecutive season, a year that followed a 2000 campaign in which he garnered the ACC's Defensive Player of the Year award.
Also during his career in Raleigh, Fisher has posted 25 double-figure tackle performances and was a semi-finalist for Butkus and Lombardi Awards in 2001.
The AFCA's Division I-A All-American Selection Committee is made up of three head coaches from each of the AFCA's eight I-A districts, one of whom serves as a district chairman, along with another head coach who serves as the charman of the selection committee.
Members of the AFCA Coaches' All-America Team receive a plaque commemorating their selection to the team.
