Wolfpack Sits Sixth After Day One Of Pine Needles Invitational

Southern Pines, N.C.--The NC State women's golf team currently stands sixth at the Pine Needles Invitational in Southern Pines, N.C. after Monday's opening round.
The Wolfpack was paced by Malin Claesson who shot a round of 76, good enough for a tie for 10th overall. Claesson was follwed in the NC State lineup by Colby Cobb with a 78 (T-21), Sarah Bonner and Rebecca Rudolph (81, T-40th) and Erica Wein (87, T-66th).
Kent State leads all teams with a score of 298. They were led by Jan Dowling, who shot the only round under par on the day with a 69.
In individual competition, Gwen Watson led all Wolfpack scorers with an 80, followed by Margaux Hennessey (81), Sarah Davis (82), Leslie Stubblefield (82) and Alli Henderson (92).
Round two begins at 8:00 a.m. Tuesday.
