Wolfpack Safety Honored By ACC

Julius Patterson has been tabbed as the ACC's Defensive Back of the Week following his performance in NC State's conference game against Maryland last Saturday night. The 5-11, 184-pound junior from Morganton, N.C., had eight tackles, six of them solo hits, and one tackle for a loss of three yards against Maryland. Patterson was involved in a pair of Terrapin turnovers. On the first, he recovered a Bruce Perry fumble at the NC State 43-yard line following an 11-yard rush by Perry. Three and a half minutes later, Patterson intercepted a Shaun Hill pass at the goal line and returned the ball 33 yards, setting up NC State's first field goal.
