Wolfpack Women Complete First Round at Tarheel Invitational

Chapel Hill, N.C. -- NC State's women's golf team carded a 330 in the first round of the Franklin Street Trust Tarheel Invitational Friday at Finley Golf Course on the North Carolina campus. The Wolfpack, with a squad of four freshmen and two sophomores, are 14th in a talent-laden field of national powers. Duke fired a 293 to hold a seven shot lead over host North Carolina and Furman.
Freshman Sarah Bonner recorded the Wolfpack's top score with a 80 and sits in a tie for 42nd. Florida State's Alison Zimmer fired a one-under 71, including a 32 on the front nine, to sit atop the individual leaderboard.
The second 18-hole round will be held on Saturday at Finley in Chapel Hill.
