NC State linebacker Levar Fisher is picking up where he left off last season when he led the entire nation in tackles.
In this week's updated NCAA Division I-A defensive statistics, the Beaufort senior is listed as the nation's third leading tackler behind Hanik Milligan of Houston and East Carolina's Pernell Griffin.
Fisher, who averaged more than 15 tackles per game last season, has a total of 49 tackles this season for an average of 16.33 per game. Milligan, who like Fisher has played just three games, is putting up a whopping total of 21 tackles per contest.
In the Wolfpack's 17-9 loss to North Carolina last Saturday, Fisher equaled a career-high when he was credited with 21 stops. The reigning ACC Defensive Player of the Year also made 21 tackles last season at Maryland.
