Men's Soccer Loses to UNC Greensboro in Big Four Tournament

Durham, N.C. - After falling behind 1-0, UNC Greensboro scored three straight goals and held off a late NC State rally to win 3-2 in the Big Four Tournament at Koskinen Stadium on the campus of Duke University Sunday afternoon.
The Pack struck first in the sixth minute of the game. Junior Michael Karim notched his fourth goal of the season off of an assist from Eric Kaufman to give NC State a quick 1-0 lead.
The Spartans would tie up the game just before the half, when Kenny Bundy netted a goal. UNC Greensboro would then use goals from Robert TeWinkel and Michael Dunaway to grab a 3-1 lead with just over 20 minutes to play.
NC State made a comeback attempt late in the contest when freshman Brock Trejo took an Isreal Mejia pass and scored with three minutes to play. The Pack had to play a man down since the 42nd minute when defender Marcus Johnson received his second yellow card of the game.
With the win UNC Greensboro improves to 11-5, while the Pack fall to 3-12.
NC State will return to action this Wednesday with a trip to East Carolina for a 2:00 p.m. contest.
