Pack Fill ESA With Excitement at Red-White Game

Raleigh, N.C. - Heralded freshman Julius Hodge scored on a lay-up with 1.1 seconds remaining to lead the Red squad to a 44-42 victory Saturday in the annual Red and White scrimmage at the ESA. Hodge finished with 15 points on 6-12 shooting and also grabbed a game-high six rebounds.
Sophomore guard Scooter Sherrill led all scorers with 16 points on 8-10 shooting from the field and fellow sophomore Marcus Melvin hit all three of his three-point attempts to finish with 12 points. Sharp shooting rookie Levi Watkins nailed 5-6 field goal attempts and 2-3 three-pointers, while senior guard Anthony Grundy tallied 8 points and 2 steals for the Red squad.
Both squads combined to shoot .522 (35-67) from the field and .412 (7-17) on three pointers.
NC State will hold its first exhibition of the season this Saturday at 7:00 p.m.
