Clemson Sweeps Wolfpack Swimming/Diving

Horn, Bailey take two wins
CLEMSON, SC -- The NC State mens and womens swimming/diving squads dropped two to the Clemson Tigers Saturday afternoon. The Tiger women won 152-91, while the men prevailed 142.5-99.5. Mandy Horn provided a bright spot for the Wolfpack women taking both the 200 freestyle (1:52.82) and the 500 freestyle (5:03.36). Mary Mittendorf also posted a first-place finish for NC State, winning the 200 IM in 2:06.91.
On the mens side, Mark Eberlie was first overall in the 1000 freestyle (9:32.36), while senior Greg Solt (20.63) was also victorious in the 50 freestyle. Senior Richard Culberson posted another victory for the Wolfpack (4:39.80) and Braden Holloway finished in a tie for first in the 100 backstroke with a time of 50.65.
In the diving competition, Erin Bailey once again captured both the 1 and 3-meter events with scores of 267.9 and 281.475. The women also captured second and third-place finishes in both events, with Erin Lambie (257.4, 255.6) and Nicole Vanderbeke (252.6, 250.725) taking both spots. For the men, freshman Pat Roberts was victorious in the 3-meter event (282.375).
The Wolfpack swimming/diving teams will be back in action at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, February 2nd at the Willis Casey Aquatics Center when they take on arch-rival North Carolina.
