It's gotten so redundant that no one is ever surprised anymore when an NC State basketball player goes down with an injury. Call it bad luck, call it bad karma or call it what you wish, but there have been very few occasions on which Herb Sendek has been able to field a healthy team. And that applies to not only this season, but the last four-plus seasons as well.
The latest casualty is junior guard Archie Miller who is being listed as day-to-day with a stress fracture in his lower left leg. The nation's most accurate three-point shooter (62 percent) will definitely be held out of Saturday's game at Clemson.
After missing practice on Monday and Tuesday, Miller played only five minutes in the Pack's 84-78 loss to Duke on Wednesday night at the ESA.
The only prescription for Miller's injury: rest.
Already this season, forward Damien Wilkins, center Ron Kelley, center Cornelius Williams have missed significant playing time due to injuries. In addition, a first semester suspension caused forward Damon Thornton to sit out the Wolfpack's first nine games.
Prior to suffering his injury, Miller was playing the best basketball of his career. The 5-10 point guard was averaging 14 points per game and shooting over 60 percent from the field.
