Gymnastics Set to Begin Season

RALEIGH, N.C. (Jan. 11) -- NC State University's women's gymnastics team will begin its quest for its third consecutive conference title this weekend with the first meet of the 2001 season. NC State will host Arizona, James Madison and New Hampshire this Sunday at Reynolds Coliseum beginning at 2:00 p.m.
NC State is ranked No. 19 in the 2001 Preseason Coaches Poll released last week. The Pack will go into the 2001 season as the two-time defending EAGL conference champions. Last season, NC State set a new school record with a team score of 197.725 in the Wolfpack Invitational. Also, the Pack set new team highs on bars (49.350), beam (49.525), and floor (49.775). NC State landed six different gymnasts on the All-EAGL first and second teams as well.
Tickets for the meet are $5 for adults and $2 for youths 17 and under. Tickets can be obtained by calling 515-2106 or at the doors.
