For the fourth week in a row, NC State freshman quarterback Philip Rivers was named the ACC Rookie of the Week for his performance in the Pack's 30-23 overtime win over Georgia Tech. The 6-foot-5 true freshman completed 21-of-36 passes for 262 yards and three touchdowns, marking the third time in four games that Rivers has thrown three or more touchdown passes. For the season, Rivers has tossed 13 touchdown passes, which leads the entire nation.
Rivers becomes just the fifth player in league history to be named Rookie of the Week four times. Other four-time ACC Rookie of the Week performers were North Carolina's Amos Lawrence (1977), Wake Forest's Michael Ramseur (1982), Georgia Tech's Joe Hamilton (1996) and Florida State's Travis Minor (1997). Wide receiver Koren Robinson was listed in CNN/SI for having one of the top performances in the country after catching eight passes for 122 yards and three touchdowns.
