Rivers Named Player of the Week

Rivals.com has announced NC State QB Philip Rivers has been tabbed one
of nine Conference Players of the Week for games played through
September 9.
The 6-5, 221-pounder from Athens, Ala., completed 31 of 52 passes for 401 yards and five touchdowns in leading the Wolfpack from a 15-point second half deficit to a 41-38 victory over Big Ten foe Indiana.
The five touchdown passes is an ACC single game record for a freshman while the 401 yards is the second highest by a freshman in league history.
He was also tabbed the ACC Rookie of the Week for the second straight week on Monday.
