NC State Freshmen to Report Aug. 4

First-year head coach Chuck Amato will welcome 30 scholarship and walk-on freshmen to campus Friday, August 4 as the 2000 NC State football season gets underway. The Wolfpack newcomers will report for physicals and meetings on Friday evening and will practice for the first time on Saturday at 4:30 p.m.

"We want to orientate the freshmen to things we want to teach them," said Amato. "This will be a more relaxed atmosphere. We do not want them to come in here and be in awe. We are going to bring them along slowly."

The NC State varsity will report on Tuesday, August 8 and the first full-squad practice will be held at 8:35 a.m. on Thursday, August 10 The Wolfpack will practice in pads for the first time on Monday, August 14.
