Four Players to Miss Arkansas State Contest

NC State head football coach Chuck Amato has announced that four players will miss the season opener with Arkansas State on Sept. 2. Junior linebacker Wiliam Pannell, junior defensive tackle Nate Goodson and senior offensive lineman Alex Rice will each not play due to a violation of team rules.

Junior tight end Willie Wright will also sit out of the opener. Wright has academic obligations that must be fulfilled before he will participate in a game for the Wolfpack this season.

In addition, the following players will miss the contest as they continue to recover from injuries: OT Scott Kooistra (knee injury), DE Drew Wimsatt (back surgery) TB K.J. Stone (knee surgery), and DB Rod Johnson (ankle sprain).
