RALEIGH, NC (Aug. 23) - The NC State football team received a passing grade from head coach Chuck Amato as practice continued Aug. 23 on the campus field.
After a sluggish practice on Monday, the Wolfpack responded with an enthusiastic afternoon workout on Wednesday. Amato put the squad through situational preparations as the team prepares for next Saturday's opener.
"It (practice) has been better the last couple of days," said Amato. "The intensity picked up a bit tonight which was good to see. If I had to grade them I would give them a C+," Amato joked after practice. "It is getting better. I think they are tired of hitting themselves. They want to see a different color uniform."
The Wolfpack practiced some 11 on 11 and concluded practice with a one-minute drill. The first team offense, which needed a field goal, drove to the 15-yard line to set up a potential game-winning field goal. However, freshman Ricky Fowler ended practice by blocking Kent Passingham's attempt.
Practice will continue on Thursday afternoon on the lower practice fields.
