RALEIGH, NC (Aug. 21) - The NC State football team began classes on Monday as the team went through one practice as preparations begin for the September 2 opener against Arkansas State.
"We did not have the emotion and the type of practice that we need," said Wolfpack head coach Chuck Amato. "It is the first day of classes around here so it is kind of expected. It happens, but the good thing is we have two weeks of classes to get ready for the opener."
Amato stated that he is pleased with the way the offensive line has responded with the injury to tackle Scott Kooistra and the re-shuffling of personnel.
"We have six or seven guys in the mix fighting for positions," said Amato. "With Scott out for the next few weeks, we need some people to step up and fill some holes."
The team will practice on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m.
