Through the first three days of practice, NC State head coach has been pleased with the progress of the defense, that returns 10 starters from a year ago.
"They know the system a lot better than they did in the spring," said Wolfpack head coach Chuck Amato. "Their concentration has been real good so far, but we want them to run around and get to the football a little better."
Brian Williams, who played safety last season, is working out at corner and has adapted well. Williams made two nice defensive plays on balls during the team's passing drills on Saturday afternoon. Freshman James Walker, who made a couple of nifty defensive plays in the evening practice, is settling at one of the corner back spots.
The Wolfpack will hit the field again on Monday morning when the teams works out at 8:30 a.m. State will conduct another practice at 7:00 p.m. The team is off Sunday, but will be at Media and Meet the Pack Day at Carter-Finley Stadium.
