Lowe And Whittenburg Could Be Reunited

The backcourt combination that helped NC State win the 1983 NCAA Basketball Championship is apparently about to be reunited north of the border.

The Sporting News is reporting that new Vancouver Grizzlies head coach Sidney Lowe will add former Wolfpack teammate Dereck Whittenburg to his staff. Whittenburg is currently the head coach at Wagner College. Before that, he had a long tenure as an assistant to Bobby Cremins at Georgia Tech.

Lowe and Whittenburg have a long history together. Before coming to NC State in 1980, they were teammates at DeMatha High School in Hyattsville, Maryland.
