NC State Inks Outstanding Class of Women Golfers

"I am excited about the upcoming season as we have signed a great group of student-athletes," commented Lea. "I have been really impressed by their great enthusiasm for playing golf at NC State."
Davis is the captain and MVP of the golf team at Millbrook High School. She placed 13th in the North Carolina High School state tournament. She won the Plantations Junior Tour event at Wil-Mar and finished second in the North State tournament in Clayton. In addition to the Plantation Junior Golf Tour, she is also a member of the Tarheel Youth Golf Association and the American Junior Golf Association.
Henderson is a two-time MVP of her Pope High School golf team and won the 6AAAA Region championship this spring. She was selected to the All-County Girls Golf team in 1999 and 2000 and was a member of the All Atlanta Junior Golf team in 1998. In addition to high school tournaments, she has also competed in Atlanta Junior Golf Association and Southeastern Junior Golf Tour events.
Hennessey has been the top player on her Villa Duchesne High School team for the previous three seasons. She led her team to the 1999 Missouri state championship after finishing as runner up in 1998. Hennessey won the St. Louis district tournament and placed third in the state tournament. A three-time member of the St. Louis All-Metro golf team, Hennessey is a three-time Optimist International qualifier and also qualified for the USGA Girls Championship last summer.
Randolph attended Borah High School in Boise where she was a silver medalist at the Idaho State A1 High School Championship in 1999. She was honored by the Southern Idaho Conference with All-Conference honors in golf and academics. In addition to competing on her high school team, she is also a member of the Idaho Junior Golf Association.
Ritson, 21, is an international player that will add experience to the young Wolfpack squad. She has been a member of the England under 16's squad, under 18's squad and under 21's team and competed in England, Germany, France and Portugal. Ritson won the 1999 North of England Ladies Championship match play event after firing an even par 142 in qualifying. She is the only player to ever win the Lancashire County Championship three consecutive years.
"I am pleased to have assembled a great group of young women who are good students, are goal oriented and who possess strong work ethics and positive attitudes," remarked Lea. "We can't wait to play this fall."
