ACC Announces Change to Men's Basketball Tournament Bracket

The Atlantic Coast Conference concluded its 47th annual Spring Meeting May 17 with an announcement regarding a change in the bracket of the 2001 ACC Men's Basketball Tournament.

The league announced that the Thursday session will include a single game involving the league's eighth and ninth-seeded teams. All four quarterfinal games are now scheduled to be played on Friday in two sessions starting at noon and 7:00 p.m.

The first game of the early session will feature the league's No. 1 seed versus the winner of Thursday night's No. 8 versus No. 9 contest. The second game on Friday will have the No. 4 seeded team playing the No. 5 seeded team. In the first game of the evening session, No. 2 will play No. 7, followed by No. 3 versus No. 6.

The semifinals on Saturday will be played at 1:30 and 4:00 while Sunday's championship game will tip off at 1:00. All times are Eastern.
