NC State Men's Swimming Finishes 21st At NCAA Championship

Minneapolis, MN (March 25) - NC State's men swimming and diving squad finished competition at the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships in fashion on March 25. The Pack completed the meet, being held on the campus of the University of Minnesota, in 21st place with a score of 29 points. It marked the first time since the 1979 squad placed 11th, that NC State has finished that high at the NCAA Championships.
Greg Solt, Braden Holloway, Jarod Proto and Valter Magnusson, who yesterday captured first-team All-America honors in the 200 medley relay, placed 18th in the 400 freestyle relay in a time of 3:24.75.
Holloway also participated individually in the 200 backstroke. He captured 28th place in the event with his time of 2:01.75
The 2000 competition marks the first NCAA championship men's swimming meet to be held in a 25-meter pool.
