The Pack will practice for the next four weeks, concluding spring drills with the annual Red and White game at 1:00 p.m. on April 15 at Carter-Finley Stadium.
"After a month and a half of winter workouts, the coaches AND the players are excited about getting out on the field," said Amato. "The players have really worked hard in our offeseason conditioning program and now we are ready to move on to the next step in becoming a championship team. Weve told the entire team that each and every one of them is out there to earn a position. Everyone should be trying to make a great impression, which should lead to some great competition this spring."
NC State returns 15 starters for the 2000 season, including nine defensive players. The Wolfpack offense will be highlighted by the 1998 and 1999 ACC Rookies of the Year, tailback Ray Robinson and wide receiver Koren Robinson. Defensively, the top five tacklers from 1999 are returning, including outside linebacker Clayton White, who was a preseason candidate for the 99 Butkus Award.
Wolfpack practices will be closed to the public with the exception of several scrimmages. An announcement will be made prior to any open scrimmages as to time and location.
