RALEIGH, N.C. -- NC State forward Damien Wilkins is making slow but steady progress from a second-degree ankle sprain he suffered in practice on November 24. However, it appears his chances of returning for Saturday night's road game at Old Dominion are remote. Wilkins has missed the Pack's last two games."Damien is very doubtful," Wolfpack coach Herb Sendek said on Friday. "He has not yet practiced with the team. The most he's done is some shooting and dribbling on his own."
Prior to the injury, Wilkins was averaging 10 points and 6.3 rebounds in the Pack's first three regular season games.
Another player on the mend is Cornelius Williams. Sendek said the 6-11 senior is ready to begin practicing on a limited basis. Williams has missed the entire season with a broken left hand.
"He's wearing a splint with some bandages," Sendek said. "I think he's over the worst part of the injury and he's rounding third and heading for home. Now it's a matter of getting him back in shape, getting him reacquainted with things and having him do the best he can with the splint."
