Linebacker Clayton White Cleared to Practice
11/7/2000 12:00:00 AM | Football
RALEIGH, N.C. -- Senior linebacker Clayton White, out of action since breaking his arm
against Georgia Tech on September 21, has been given the go ahead to return
to practice with the NC State football team this week. He will be allowed to
participate in some contact drills on a limited basis.
Prior to Saturday's game against Duke, White will be fitted with a cast which will protect the area between his wrist and elbow.
If he can play on Saturday, White would provide a much-needed shot in the arm to a defense that's been hit hard by injuries. Defensive end/tackle Nate Goodson will miss this week's game against the Blue Devils with a sprained MCL in his knee. Linebacker Edrick Smith and cornerback J.J. Washington have already been declared out for the remainder of the season.
