Gugliotta Returns to Practice
11/7/2000 12:00:00 AM | Men's Basketball
Phoenix Suns forward Tom Gugliotta returned to the practice floor on
November 6, nearly eight months after tearing two ligaments in his left
knee. The former NC State star told the Arizona Republic, "It felt good. I
trusted the knee. I didn't hesitate cutting or jumping off one leg.
Obviously, there's a little bit of rust. But, overall, I felt great."
The 6-10 Gugliotta, who led Phoenix in rebounding last season, probably won't join the active roster until around Thanksgiving. In the meantime, he'll use the next couple of weeks to get himself into playing shape. Team doctors estimate Gugliotta's knee is at about 90 percent of normal strength at this time.
