NC State Finishes Third at VMI Invitational

LEXINGTON, Va. (Sep. 30, 2000) -- The Keydet Rifle team opened
up the 2000-2001 season by winning the
VMI Invitational this past weekend in the
Killbourne Hall Rifle Range. VMI finished first with a
score of 4331 points ahead of Kings College who
finished second (4305 points), followed by N.C.
State in third place (4148 points), USP in fourth (4117 points), and The Citadel fifth with 3456 points.
VMI was led by junior Eric Poole (Abington, Va.) with a score of 1107 followed by senior Brittion Armstrong (Chesterfield, Va.) with 1081 points.
The VMI Rifle team will next compete against the University of Nebraska on October 15 in Killbourne Hall in Lexington, Va.
