Philip Rivers has done it again. For the fifth time in as many games, the freshman from Athens, Alabama has been named the ACC's Rookie of the Week. Rivers had another outstanding afternoon in the Wolfpack's defeat at Clemson on Oct. 7, connecting on 21-of-48 passes for 370 yards and three touchdowns. His 370 passing yards versus the Tigers was the 10th best single-game passing performance in NC State history.
Joining Rivers on the ACC honor roll this week was Wolfpack linebacker Levar Fisher, who was picked as the league's defensive lineman of the week. The 6'1, 223 pound junior from Beaufort, N.C. recorded 19 tackles, including 14 unassisted hits and a pair of quarterback sacks at Clemson. Fisher also caused a fumble and broke up a pass. His 19 total tackles rank seventh for a single game in the NC State record books.
