Women's Golf 17th In Tarheel Invitational

Chapel Hill, NC (Oct. 7) - The nationally-ranked Duke women's golf team continue to run away from the field at the Franklin Street & Trust Tarheel Invitational, expanding its lead to 17 shots after the second round of competition on Oct. 7. The Blue Devils posted a second round 290 for a 36-hole total of 585.
NC State shot a second round 337 for 675 total heading into tomorrow's final round of competition. The Wolfpack, playing with a roster of five freshman, are playing in just their third event since the program was reinstated this fall.
Malin Claesson, a rookie from Kalmar, Sweden, leads NC State with a 80-81=161 and it tied for 59th. Chloe Ritson has a 36-hole total of 164 for the Wolfpack.
The final 18-hole round of the tournament will be held on Sunday at UNC's Finley Golf Course in Chapel Hill.
