UNC Charlotte Downs NC State 1-0 On Own Goal

Greensboro, N.C. (Oct. 29) - An own goal in the 52nd minute gave the UNC Charlotte men's soccer team a 1-0 win over NC State in the Big Four Tournament on Oct.29 at UNC Greensboro.
Ross Weikel, a junior defender for the Pack, headed the ball past goalie Mitchell Watson when he attempted to clear a free kick by the 49ers' David Pedreschi in the 52nd minute of the game.
UNC Charlotte improves its record to 8-7-2, while NC State falls to 2-11-3 on the year. UNCC edged the Pack in shots 22-11, with NC State's Watson coming up big several times while recording 13 saves.
NC State will play its final home game on Nov. 2 when the Pack plays Gardner-Webb at 2:30 p.m.
